DEGH

Degh is an Armenian alternative rock band formed in 2010 by Robert Khudaverdyan (guitar), Ashot Danelyan (bass) and Hakob Torgomyan (drums). The musicians had a 5-year history of playing together in the pre-Degh band Rabble Rouse.

A year after Rabble Rouse split up, the guys gathered together again. A few months later, Srbuhi Hovhannisyan joined them on vocals, and they played two concerts with their old name until the decision was made to get the new one. In mid 2010 Degh played their first concert with an eponymous title, which was the start of an active concert period in Yerevan clubs. The band also organized small rock festivals for young bands.

A good friend of theirs, Eduard Peshtmaljyan, recorded one of Degh's live concerts at Stop Club, a live album that was released on Indie Libertines Records, and soon Eduard joined the band on keyboards.

On April 28, 2011, Degh released their first studio recording – debut single “Nver” (Gift). Recorded at Eduard’s home studio, Zlo Records, the single was released through Indie Libertines Records and is available for a free download.

Degh’s songs are original, composed and written by guitarist Robert Khudaverdyan. All the band members are from Yerevan and are quite patriotic, which is reflected in some of the band’s songs.
